As the world heats up, one of the greatest dangers for seniors is the heat in their apartments. Particularly for low income seniors, they often live in older apartments that do not have up to date AC. One of the easiest fixes to ensure greater comfort and to avoid heat issues is to install a modern window AC. Not very hard, the cost is $500 or less usually and they can literally be the difference between life and death.

In this case, I installed a window AC and have spent a few sessions with my client to explain how the AC works, how to lower and raise the temperature, increase the fan speed, etc. That is one of the hardest things with the new AC’s is that they are all made super techie with super small remotes or linked to the cell phone.
