We installed this grab bar on the inside of a condo, to allow easier movement to an outside terrace. Anytime there are steps, it’s a good idea to have a vertical grab bar installed. In this case, it allows the senior to hold onto the grab bar while sliding the door, lessening the chance of a slip and fall. As well, we put a bar on the other side. In many cases, people will just put a hand on the side of the wall, but this is less secure and more dangerous.
